What is TeamUnlock+

TeamUnlock+ is an original outdoor puzzle game from Hong Kong. It combines elements of “Mystery games”, “Detective games”, and “City Hunt".

TeamUnlock+ will not only be held in Hong Kong but also in cities around the world! No matter where you are, invite your friends and family to join, experience the charm of puzzle-solving, and enjoy happy times during the adventure!

How to play

If you have a phone, you can play—it’s that simple!

Gather Your Team

Check the starting location in the confirmation email

(varies by event session).

Meet up with your team to begin the adventure!

Enter the Story World

Team members take out their phones and enter the game start link as email instructed (via web browser). Once all members press the ready button, the game starts with a 90-minute countdown, initiated by the first member who scanned the QR code.

One-Minute Tutorial

Carefully read the in-game tutorial, which is crucial for understanding the game flow.

Map and Level

Open the in-game GPS map to find clues 🔑 and puzzles 🔒. The game interface includes a progress bar with different colors representing different levels, which must be completed in order!

Solve the Puzzles

Enter the correct answer in the game once a puzzle is solved.
Pay attention to all image details and story text, which contain all the clues you need. With your clever mind, you're sure to find the right answer.

Hints

Each puzzle comes with hints, and once the hints are used up, using each hint will increase the completion record time (For Ranking).

Global Ranking

The leaderboard will rank all teams based on the shortest completion time. Compete with different teams for the achievement of the fastest clear!

  • Where to play? Will I receive maps in advance?
    The game route will change depending on the session. Players will see the starting area when selecting a session. After payment, you will receive the exact location of the starting point. You can view the game range on the map in the game interface.
  • Can we play if the number of participants is not 3-6 people? Are there any restrictions on gender roles?
    There are no gender restrictions for participants. 3-6 people is the optimal number of participants. If there are more than 6 people, you will need to form another team. The progress of the two teams will not be interconnected.
  • Do I need to download a game app in advance?
    No. There is no need to download an app. Use a browser to enter the game interface and start the game!
  • What should I prepare before starting the game?
    Each player should prepare a smartphone that can connect to the internet and has GPS capabilities. Please ensure that your phone has enough battery to support 90 minutes of game-play.
  • Is the game only available in Chinese?
    The game offers both Chinese and English versions, and participants can switch between them within the game.
  • Are there specific time slots for each session? When should I start the game?
    The game is divided into sessions, not time slots. The game lasts about 90 minutes. You can start the game at any time during the session from the starting point.
  • Is the event duration 90 minutes? What if we can't finish within the time limit?
    90 minutes is the estimated time to complete the entire story. The game starts at the moment you press "Start Game". If you cannot finish within the time limit, the game can still continue, so no worries.
  • I'm a beginner. Will there be staff or hosts to assist during the game?
    No. The game interface includes detailed instructions. If you encounter unsolvable puzzles, you might use in-game hints.
  • What should I do if my phone's GPS location is inaccurate?
    Please ensure your GPS function is turned on and allow your browser to use the GPS function.
  • We have used all the hints but still cannot solve the puzzle.
    Carefully review the puzzles and clues within the game, including all the visuals, content and past levels after solving puzzles. This will help you solve the current puzzle.
  • Where can I use the discount code?

  • What payment methods are available?
    This website accepts credit card payments. For details, please refer to the ticket page.
  • I purchased a ticket but couldn't attend at the last minute. Can I cancel?
    This event does not offer refunds. If you are unable to attend, it is recommended to transfer your ticket.
  • Can I buy a ticket after the event has started?
    Yes, as long as the ticket page is still active, you can participate in the event.
