Beyond the Screams: How 3,592 Players Unlocked a Deeper Story at Ocean Park Halloween 2025

This Halloween 2025, the sounds at Ocean Park weren't just screams from the haunted houses. They were the "aha!" moments of puzzles solved, the hurried whispers of friends forming a strategy, and the shared laughter of a new discovery.
What if waiting in line wasn't just a pause, but part of the adventure?
That was the question we explored with our partners at Hong Kong Ocean Park for their 2025 Halloween event. We are committed to creating meaningful journeys of discovery, and this collaboration was a perfect opportunity to bring that mission to life, blending urban legends with a deeper purpose.
Our custom-built game, 《魍 Possession》, turned the familiar park into a new world of mystery. Players could scan a QR code right in the haunted house queues and, without any downloads, their phones became a portal. Waiting time was transformed into an interactive LARP experience, where every player had to work together to unravel a chilling local legend.
The response was clear:
3,592 total participants
2,005 teams formed
105 minutes average game time
That average play time shows us this was more than just a way to pass the time. Teams were committed, engaged, and determined to see the story through to the end.
A Discovery with Purpose
For TeamUnlock+, a "meaningful journey" means blending fun with insight. This game wasn't just about the ghost story.
We worked with Ocean Park to weave a custom narrative that brought players into a virtual world, encouraging them to see their surroundings differently. As players solved the mystery, they also unlocked facts about underwater life, helping to correct common misunderstandings about sharks.
It was the perfect example of our mission in action: using technology and play not as a distraction, but as a lens to discover something new about the world around us.
